Welcome to the new site for Gamma Nu Zeta. This site will allow us to communicate with the alumni and share stories from other alumni, the undergraduate chapter, and the Lambda Chi Alpha National Fraternity.
There are many great times that this brotherhood provides for us. It seems that these four years in the house (five or six for a lucky few) is not long enough. The brotherhood has become a home away from home for all of us. While we have many events we love, the most sought after cocktail by the sorority girls is Christmas Cocktail.
As summer draws to an end, the leaves are starting to change color. This can mean only one thing, football season! The great thing about football is the full day of festivities involved. We start the day by waking up early and rolling out of bed. After donning a button down and bowtie, we congregate on the porch and wait for the best part of the day, the barbeque, to get ready. A few brave and dedicated brothers chose to stay up all night with this pig in order to cook it before the game starts.
Dressing up and going door to door for candy was a tradition for many of us when we were kids. With our parents telling us “you won’t be able to do this forever,” we weren’t looking forward to the days where it was deemed socially unacceptable to dress up like a ghoul or goblin. Life at Chapel Hill doesn’t hinder our nostalgia for this great holiday. This celebration, however, is more than just nostalgia.
I have been elected the new alumni coordinator for this year. We made a great deal of progress with the success of last year’s Homecoming and I am already working hard on this year’s. The university has not yet set the date for Homecoming, but I will keep you posted on that as soon as it is decided upon.
Graduation is May 11th.
Congratulations to our fifteen newly initiated brothers of Fall 2007.
Block Party 2008 is April 12th.
There will be a Gamma Nu Foundation Meeting held at the house on April 19th at 10:30 am.
